Job Summary

The DA works on behalf of the patient and the dentist helping to assure a high level of professional excellence in oral health care delivery.

Essential Job Functions

• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
• Conduct patient health screening AND record medical/dental histories.
• Perform diagnostic dental radiographic procedures.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Conduct work in compliance with office policies, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Provide patient education materials.
• Assist with other office tasks such as communicating with patients over phone.

Requirements

• Required: X-Ray Certification & Radiation Safety Certificate.
• Required: Certified Dental Assistant.
• Required: Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish speaker).
• Proof of course completion in California Dental Practice Act (CDPA) & Infection Control (within 12 months).
• Good communication skills and ability to perform detailed work.
• Should be able to assist wheel chair patients in and out of the dental chair.
• Must be able to hear people on the phone and in person in order to communicate information properly.
• Must have vision adequate to read written materials, computer screens, forms, and other clinical documents.
• Must have high manual dexterity.

Preferences

• Previous dental assistant experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Dentrix dental software experience (1 year preferred).

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Rate: $22 - $32 per hour (Based on experience)
• Paid time off
